PROJECT

"Baise, Guangxi-Beijing Cold-Chain Fruits and Vegetables Trains"

Revolutionary Practice of Long Distance Cold-Chain Transportation Train

    PROJECT

    BACKGROUND

Baise is one of the largest fruit and vegetable base in Guangxi Province, and the China’s most important “South-to-North Vegetable Diversion" base, China's “Home of Mango”. For a long time, Baise solely rely on road transportation, the fruits and vegetables are easily spoiled by the weather and road conditions, especially during the Spring Festival each year. In terms of fresh agricultural products, transportation, railway transportation are rare. There are three main reasons:
1.the single large railway transport capacity does not match small batch of fresh agricultural products demand.
2.The long time the railway with the required speed do not match the short time of fresh farm products.
3.the railway station to station do not match the requirements of the fresh agricultural products between the door to door.

    PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION AND OUTCOMES

Thinking about “serving the farmers in old revolutionary area, serving Beijing people’s vegetable basket”, and following “small team, fast speed, door to door”, the Railway Corporation opened a fruit and vegetable train travelling from Baise and Beijing.

We designed, applied, operated and located the project. We assisted the local government solve the problems such as costly and difficult transportation, and now the transportation of vegetables and fruits do not solely rely on road.

The implementation of this project is a revolutionary practice of long distance transportation of fresh agricultural products.
